Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has hailed David de Gea as one of the best goalkeepers in club history. The Spaniard has left the Red Devils after his contract expired. Ending a 12-year career at the club and becoming the team’s most clean sheet goalkeeper. 

Ten Hag said of De Gea: “You need great quality and character to reach the level of even playing just one game for Manchester United.”

De Gea has won one Premier League, FA Cup, Europa League and two Carabao Cups with United. As well as two Premier League Golden Gloves and Player of the Year awards. Club Player of the Year (Sir Matt Busby, voted by fans) four times as Player of the Year as voted by the players.
