Arsenal confirm Edu steps down as sporting director

- Arsenal have confirmed that Edu Gaspar has resigned as club director.
- Edu has been Arsenal’s sporting director since 2019.
- Edu is reportedly set to take charge of Nottingham Forest chairman Evangelos Marinakis’ football empire.

Edu, part of Asene Wenger’s ‘invincibles’ team in 2003-04, re-joined the Gunners as a technical director in 2019, before going on to fill the role of sporting director from November 2022 onwards.
The club confirm in a statement that he has now resigned from his post in order to explore other opportunities elsewhere.

Edu has Arsenal sporting director since 2019 and has been behind a number of key signings.
